Vets eligible for free war memorial tour

Local veterans are eligible for a free tour the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

World War II veterans in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Washington and Holmes counties are eligible for Tour the World War II Memorial on April 30.

Priority will be given to senior veterans and those who are terminally ill. Applications may be obtained at http://www.emeraldcoasthonorflight.com or at 1301 West Moreno St. in Pensacola.

To submit an application, contact Okaloosa County Veterans Services at (850) 689-5922, or (850) 651-7258.

The Emerald Coast Honor Flight program, headed by U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller and comprised of military personnel and business leaders, is sponsoring the tour.
