Man gets life for child abuse

A Destin man has been sentenced to life in prison for aggravated sexual child abuse, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Ambrose Puente, 37, was found guilty of forcing a 7- to-8-year-old child to perform oral sex on him more than a dozen times during a four- to five-month period on Eglin Air Force Base.

Puente has served on the United States Air Force and the Army National Guard.

The FBI and Air Force Office of Special Investigations handled the case.
