High School Film Competition
All area high school film makers are invited to submit entries for the 21st Annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.
The competition, open to all high school students in the state of Florida, is the longest film festival in the world (Guinness World Records); the highest rated in the Southeast U.S. and the only festival in the South to receive Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Foundation support for three years.
Four categories are listed:
Narrative
Documentary
Music Video
Experimental
All films must be 5 minutes or shorter.
Entry fee is $10 and VHS or DVD accepted for submission purposes. Students can apply online through Withoutabox.com. They should include which category their film is entered and and which high school they attend. Deadline for submissions is June 17.
A panel of judges will choose the top three in each category. The Screenings and Awards ceremony will be held during the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival held starting Oct. 20 through November.
