Fight over lasagna leads to child abuse charge
A 50-year-old Crestview man is accused of choking a 16-year-old boy over a lasagna dinner.
Lexter Mann Johnson was arrested Dec. 23 and charged with felony child abuse in connection with the Nov. 12 incident.
Johnson, of East James Lee Boulevard, was arguing with the boy when he slammed him to the floor and applied pressure to his neck, which blocked his airway, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report.
He also struck the young man in the back. The 16-year-old had abrasions to his neck, redness on the top of his back and hemorrhaging in both eyes.
He told the deputy he had trouble breathing during the incident and after the older man let him go.
