Two men escape flaming SUV on I-10

Two men escaped a burning vehicle Friday on Interstate 10 after it rolled over a guard rail, hit a pine tree and caught fire.

Both suffered serious injuries.

Miguel Silvan, 30, of Jesup, Ga., was taken to West Florida Hospital with an unidentified 30-year-old passenger, also from Jesup, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 1998 Ford sport utility vehicle had been westbound near the 49-mile marker at about 4:40 p.m. when Silvan lost control.

Both men were wearing seatbelts and the accident was not alcohol-related, according to the FHP.
