Crestview boy busted for single pot of pot

By WENDY VICTORA, Florida Freedom Newspapers

A 15-year-old Crestview boy who was seen leaving a wooded area across from his home in a "hurried manner" was found to be growing marijuana plants there, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

The teen, who lives on Second Avenue in Crestview, has been charged with manufacture and cultivation of marijuana, which is a felony.

The Crestview police were at his house to interview him about something else when they noticed his exit from the wooded area. An officer who went to investigate found a black plastic pot with a marijuana plant growing in it.

The boy admitted that he owned the pot and its content. He told police he'd planted several seeds a few weeks earlier and had been tending them. He added that he was planning to grow them and sell the pot to make money, according to the report.
