Crestview 'cat fight' ends with arrest
A Valparaiso woman was charged with felony battery after a "cat fight" in a Crestview bar ended with a chunk of hair submitted into evidence.
Brianne Gillette, 24, was arrested after reportedly starting a fight at Kee's Pub and Grub when another woman accused her of using drugs.
Kellie Stern, 22, of Crestview, says she overheard Gillette and another woman talking about drugs and snorting something in a bathroom stall Saturday night.
Stern and Gillette were friends up until six months ago, an incident report from the Okaloosa Sheriff's Office states.
Gillette tried to hug her former friend but Stern pulled away. Everyone left the bathroom, but minutes later at a pool table, Stern confronted Gillette about the drugs.
At that point, Gillette allegedly pulled Stern to the ground and yanked out a handful of her hair, witnesses said.
When deputies arrived, Gillette had already left, but they found her at the Holly Rock bar and arrested her.
Her sworn statement said she and Stern had a misunderstanding and they had a "cat fight."
The hair that was pulled out of Stern's head was submitted into evidence.
