Man arrested in Black Friday quarrel

A 49-year-old Miramar Beach man was charged with battery for shouldering a woman out of the way on Black Friday, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office report.

The two were waiting in line at Circuit City on Mary Esther Boulevard. The man said he asked a woman if he could get past her, but she told him no, using an expletive.

He said he asked again and she gave the same response. He said “this made him frustrated so he lowered his shoulder and made his way past” the woman, according to the report.

The 48-year-old woman from Inverness said she was standing behind the man and he told her to get out of his way. She told him to go around her but he pushed past her, using an expletive, according to the report.

The woman, who uses a cane, said she almost fell to the ground. She added she threatened to hit the man with her cane because she was scared.
