Art Competition for Sandestin Wine Festival

Calling All Artists: Winning Artist to receive $5,000 award

Artists are invited to join in a competition to produce the official artwork for the 22nd Annual Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf April 10-13, 2008.

The winning artist will receive $5,000 and design recognition on all festival marketing materials from advertisements to brochures and T-shirts to posters.

The Sandestin Wine Festival will also provide booth space to the winning artist to display and sell the artist’s work at the festival. Accommodations will be provided April 12-13 at the beautiful Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.

Contest Rules

Artists of all ages are encouraged to submit their original designs. Submissions should be thematically related to the Sandestin Wine Festival and embody the look of The Village of Baytowne Wharf and/or recognizable icons. Abstract designs are encouraged. Judging criteria will also include viability of sales potential. Entries should be appropriate for replication.

Submission requirements:

- All entries must be received by 5 p.m. on Aug. 27 and must include the artist’s name, address, phone number and email address

- All entries (original artwork) should be mailed to Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf, P.O. Box 6053, Miramar Beach, FL 32550

- Electronic versions of submissions on a CD as a high-resolution .jpg accompanying the original artwork is highly encouraged but not necessary

- Submissions should not be larger than 24" x 36"

- Artwork should include the numeral “22” (for the 22nd annual event) and be representative of the “Sandestin Wine Festival” and/or “The Village of Baytowne Wharf”

- No more than three designs per artist may be submitted

- Entries not meeting the deadline or fulfilling the requirements will not be considered

About the Sandestin Wine Festival

The Sandestin Wine Festival reserves the right to accept or reject all work submitted during this competition, the right to alter the final design as needed for reproduction and accepts no liability for damaged or lost submissions. Sandestin Wine Festival reserves the right to unlimited reproduction and use of the image (or parts thereof) for promotional materials as well as products for sale. All submissions will become the property of the Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf and will not be returned. The winner will be contacted by Sept. 15 and announced on http://sandestinwinefestival.com as well as in a supplemental press release. A requirement of the winning artist is they create a select number of prints of the winning design to be sold during the festival at the artist’s booth.

The Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf features four days of unique events from private dinners and rare wine auctions to wine tastings showcasing more than 600 domestic and international wines. Wine novices learn more about wines and may sample from a selection of all varieties from across the globe. Wine aficionados enjoy meeting winemakers and finding hard-to-get selections.
