Park rangers to hold wildlife tours
SANTA ROSA BEACH - Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is hosting a series of tours to raise awareness about nature and wildlife.
At 9 a.m. Saturday, a park ranger will discuss the effect of exotic plants on Florida during a tour starting at 9 a.m. He will talk about how to identify exotic plants, as well as how to rid them from yards.
On Sept. 13, park visitors can arrive at 9 a.m. and ask park rangers any questions they have about park wildlife.
And, on Sept. 27 starting at 6 p.m., rangers will talk about bats, including what they eat, where they go and how they help the environment.
Visitors should park at the day-use area off Highway 30A and walk to the clubhouse. A $2 park entry fee is required.
