Road closures for Navy radar tests

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, FL. - The U.S. Navy will be conducting land and maritime-based tests of their Ground Based Fighter Radar here Saturday.

For safety reasons, base authorities will periodically close both directions of U.S. Highway 98 from Tyndall AFB to Mexico Beach.

Drivers can expect minimal delays of not more than 10 minutes between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Additionally, U.S. Air Force patrol vessels will periodically clear boaters from Crooked Island Sound from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If necessary, Sunday will be a back up for the tests. Times will remain the same.
