New lanes opening on John Sims

NICEVILLE - A section of John Sims Parkway will open this week.

Construction crews from APAC-Southeast plan to open the eastbound travel and turn lanes between the eastern end of the Boggy Bayou Bridge and Crestview Avenue (State Road 85). Eastbound lanes between Crestview Avenue and Bayshore Drive opened last week.

Work will continue on the eastbound section between Government Avenue and the Boggy Bayou Bridge, and the westbound travel and turn lanes between Bayshore Drive and Government Avenue. The $12.6-million project is scheduled for completion this summer.

This has to be the slowest project in the history of roadwork - In S. Dakota they have 1/3 the months to get the work done, yet they can get it done 3 times faster than year round work in Florida
