Update on body found in Paxton; ID still pending

The Walton County Sheriff's Office is still following leads in identifying the dead body of a man found Wednesday in Paxton.

No positive identification has been made as of yet. An autopsy is scheduled for either today or tomorrow morning at the Office of the State Medical Examiner in Fort Walton Beach, according to Sheriff's reports.

Samples of DNA and other identifying information will be taken and sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Crime Lab for comparison to the statewide DNA database.

Depending on their prior caseload, results may not be in for several weeks.
