Theft suspect arrested with fake ID

FORT WALTON BEACH — A suspected shoplifter caught stuffing items in his jacket will lose more than the coveted bottles of cologne and rechargeable razor.

He’ll lose his fake ID, too.

A loss prevention officer at T.J. Maxx on Mary Esther Cut-Off watched 36-year-old Angel David Calix Santos conceal the products Monday and walk out of the store without paying, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. The officer caught Santos, brought him back inside and waited for a sheriff’s deputy to arrive.

A search of Santos revealed a counterfeit Tennessee identification card. Santos, who is a Honduran citizen, said he bought the card for $150 in Texas about a year ago.

Santos has no known local address. His permanent address was listed as Memphis, Tenn. He was charged with unauthorized possession of an identification card and retail theft.
