Santa goes to Santa Rosa

Celebrate the holidays on the island whose first name is Santa!

Santa Rosa Island is the place to be on Dec. 15 and 16 when a fleet of decorated boats motors around Santa Rosa Sound to deliver jolly St. Nick to the Island.

The Pensacola Beach Chamber of Commerce Lighted Boat Parade will leave Pensacola Beach Marina at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 and sail into Santa Rosa Sound passing under the Bob Sikes Bridge landing at the Boardwalk on Pensacola Beach.

Children will be given light sticks to waive, so that Santa will know they eagerly await his arrival.

The following day the spectacular Pensacola Beach Chamber of Commerce Holiday Parade will make its way down Via de Luna at 2 p.m.

Whimsical floats, marching units and Santa high atop the fire truck will travel west on Via de Luna beginning at Avenida 10 and ending at the Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach where children will get to speak personally to Santa.

These events are part of the Season Your Holidays with Island Spirit celebration on Pensacola Beach. For more information and a complete schedule, go to www.visitpensacolabeach.com or call (850) 932-1500.
