Road rage ends in hit-and-run
A woman’s foot was run over by a convertible after she exited her vehicle to confront another driver Thursday afternoon.
The hit-and-run appears to have started with road rage, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
“I think she felt he was following too closely,” said Nicole Wagner, spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office.
The woman got out of her vehicle at the intersection of State Road 85 and State Road 123 and approached the driver of another car.
“He just decided to go around her,” Wagner said. “There doesn’t seem to be any intent to harm her.”
Deputies stopped the driver of the convertible shortly after the accident.
Wagner said she doesn’t expect charges to be filed against the driver of the convertible. However, the accident is still under investigation.
