Christmas vandals strike often

Several vandalism incidents kept police busy in the days leading up to Christmas. Eight mailboxes were smashed in one area: Coral Drive, Cedar Avenue and Baggett Place, according to Fort Walton Beach police reports compiled just after 7:30 a.m. Sunday

The yard on Baggett Place was also missing several Christmas decorations.

Two days earlier, consecutive homes on Holmes Boulevard and one on Sullivan Street were vandalized. Several metal and inflatable decorations were broken and one bird bath was tossed into a palm tree.

Damages to that neighborhood’s decorations were estimated at about $1,200, according to police reports.

The reports list no suspects.
