Santa Rosa Beach woman injured

A woman was critically injured after her car flipped on U.S. Highway 98 in Walton County on Sunday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Tina Marie Williams, 47, of Santa Rosa Beach, was traveling east at 6:16 p.m. when the accident occurred, an FHP report said.

A passenger in her car, 25-year-old Jason Crowder, also of Santa Rosa Beach, was seriously injured, according to the report.

Crowder said Williams swerved to avoid a small animal in the road, while witnesses said she was changing lanes to pass other vehicles, according to the report.

The vehicle rolled over three times, the report said.

The wreck is under investigation.
