Purse-snatching
An 85-year-old woman had her purse — and the nearly $2,200 in it — stolen from her cart at Wal-Mart.
While Virginia Magana was loading her purchases into her car, her cart rolled away. One of the suspects took the money out of the purse and threw the purse away, according to a Jackson County news release.
A review of Wal-Mart security footage showed the suspects were in a medical transport van. The van was traced to Sunland Training Facility, where Amber Neel, 20, of Altha, and Harriett Donaldson, 28, of Marianna, were questioned and confessed to taking the purse, the release stated.
About $1,800 of Magana’s money was recovered, officials said. Neel and Donaldson were charged with grand theft and taken to Jackson County Correctional Facility, deputies reported.
