Heritage Museum hosts quilting show

VALPARAISO - The Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida will present "Flying Needles," an exhibit of old and new Florida quilts through Sept. 27.
   
The show is sponsored in conjunction with the Flying Needles Quilt Guild. Included in the exhibit are historic quilts dating from the late 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. Also on view are contemporary quilts on loan from area collections including several created by members of the Flying Needles Quilt Guild.
  
Guild demonstrations and hands-on activities for all ages are planned for Aug. 14 from noon to 1 p.m. and Aug. 23 from 2 to 4 p.m.
