Singer arrested; felt he ‘made it big’
FORT WALTON BEACH — A musician arrested on New Year’s Eve for trying to ram a woman with his truck was charged again on New Year’s Day for earlier making himself at home in a house on Harrelson Drive, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff ’s Office.
Steven Ray Moseley, 19, of Tokalon Street, was charged for aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, burglary and theft.
His employer is listed as the Moseley Brown Band.
A frantic woman pulled into the Sheriff ’s Office station in Destin on Monday, yelling for help after she said a Dodge truck tried to ram her several times while chasing her car from the west end of the Destin Bridge. The Dodge missed and hit the bridge’s guard rail.
When deputies pulled over the suspect truck, Moseley said he was chasing the car because his girlfriend “Leslie” was in it and that he hit the bridge.
There was no “Leslie” in the woman’s car and she said she didn’t know Moseley.
The next day, lawmen investigating a burglary early the previous morning on Harrelson Drive interviewed Moseley. A neighbor identified Moseley in a lineup after reporting seeing him in the house while the owner was away.
Moseley admitted he had “entered the residence, where he drank alcohol, smoked cigars, took a shower and nap,” according to the report.
“The defendant stated he thought he had created the residence in his mind, and thought he had made it big,” the report said.
