New OWC Professor of Military Science For ROTC Program
Lt. Col. Mark Soroka has been assigned to full-time duty as an assistant professor of military science with the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program at Okaloosa-Walton College and begins classroom duty in the Spring Term which begins Jan. 14.
The ROTC program at OWC is part of the University of West Florida U.S. Army Corps of Cadets and provides the first two years of military leadership training.
Soroka will be in charge of the ROTC courses at OWC which introduce military organization, skills and tradition.
Soroka explained that ROTC is open to any qualified student who wishes to explore the possibility of a military career and enrollment does not require a commitment to military service.
Enrollment for the Spring ROTC classes, Basic Leadership & Military Skills and Application of Military Skills, are open through the end of late registration on January 22, but classes begin January 14.
For more information contact Soroka at (850) 729-6022 or (850) 512-0160 or e-mail at sorokam@owc.edu.
The OWC ROTC courses are transferable to university level ROTC programs in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
