Walton County Honors Retired Tax Collector

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS - Walton County Tax Collector Rhonda Skipper honored retired Walton County Tax Collector Jack Little with a special presentation and portrait hanging.

Little is Walton County’s longest serving Tax Collector with 32 years of service. A beautiful charcoal portrait of Little by DeFuniak Springs artist, John Grice, will hang in the lobby of the Office of the Tax Collector in honor of Little’s years of service to Walton County.

During the presentation, Skipper exclaimed, “I learned true customer service when I worked under Mr. Little as a clerk. He taught us how to go above and beyond to assist our customers and that is still a priority in our office today.”

Skipper thanked Little for the strong foundation he laid during his years as Tax Collector. While much has changed in regard to the technology and the collection of taxes, Skipper expressed that serving the needs and best interest of the public has not changed.

Little thanked his wife Reacy for her dedicated service and hard work during his tenure as Tax Collector. “I couldn’t have done it without my better half”, remarked Little.

Present for the special occasion was Little’s wife, Reacy; son, Ken; granddaughter, Kit Blackerby; and grandson, James Little.
