Real estate agent finds house on fire
Lightning caused extensive damage Wednesday afternoon to a home that was for sale.
A real estate agent who was supposed to show the house at 316 Brackin St. arrived to find firefighters battling the blaze that caused about $120,000 in damage to the home listed for sale at $170,000, said Crestview Fire Department Battalion Chief Jon Riedel.
Riedel estimated damage to the house’s contents at about $30,000.
Lightning hit the roof of the three-bedroom house at 4 p.m. and caused a fire in the attic.
The owner, who is in the military, was not home.
Lightning also hit a house across the street but did not cause a fire. The owners were home at the time.
