Volunteer at Sacred Heart
Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast is currently seeking volunteers interested in adding a special touch to the environment of care offered to patients, families and visitors who walk through the hospital doors every day.
Morning, evening and early afternoon shifts are available seven days a week. Special skills are not required to become a volunteer.
Volunteers may work a few hours a week or serve a few days a week. The rewards of volunteering are as individual as each volunteer, with all volunteers enjoying the special benefits of a free meal in the hospital cafeteria on their volunteer day, free CPR classes, free flu vaccines through the hospital's Employee Health Office, and an open invitation to participate in employee social events.
Since 2003, over 250 volunteers have served the hospital through a variety of roles and have accumulated over 100,000 hours of service. The volunteers serve as community ambassadors in numerous areas, including the welcome desk, patient care areas, emergency department registration, surgery waiting area, gift shop, food services, pastoral care, medical records and the guest services parking shuttle.
“Our volunteers give so generously of their time and energy in support of the mission at Sacred Heart,” explains Roger Hall, president of Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. “They play a vital role in providing high quality, compassionate health care to our community.”
