Homeless man found in Goodwill bin

By WENDY VICTORA, Florida Freedom Newspapers

A 35-year-old homeless man was arrested and charged with theft after he was discovered inside of a Goodwill donations bin at 913 Beal Parkway on Dec. 23, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office report.

A deputy noticed his bicycle lying nearby under a tree, along with a stack of clothing. She approached the bin and found the man hiding inside. He was ordered out of the bin and found to have several clothing items in his hands and in his coat pockets.

The bin is clearly labeled as property of Goodwill Easter Seals. The defendant was inside the box and on the premises of a closed business.

He was charged with misdemeanor theft and given a court date.
