International business grants awarded
Panhandle economic development agencies were recently awarded a portion of $1.5 million in grants to aid their efforts to expand foreign direct investment and international trade development in Florida.
Enterprise Florida awarded Florida International Business Expansion Initiative (FIBEI) matching grants to five Panhandle groups that propose to advance international business in key markets for their region and in line with goals detailed in the Roadmap to Florida’s Future, the state’s five-year strategic plan for economic development.
In selecting organizations, Enterprise Florida strongly considered proposed initiatives that could continue beyond the grant funding period. The recipients will receive their awards on a “refund” basis, after satisfying performance measures designated by Enterprise Florida.
