Man had heart attack during break-in
NICEVILLE — Harold Crown, a 64-year-old man who fought off three men who broke into his home Dec. 18, suffered a mild heart attack during the fight, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff ’s Office report.
Crown fired two rounds from a .45-caliber revolver during the home invasion, and 19-year-old Jamal James showed up at Twin Cities Hospital later that evening with a bullet wound to the shoulder.
The Sheriff ’s Office report on James’ Dec. 21 arrest states that Crown suffered “great bodily harm with severe bruising on his chest, arms, wrist and facial/head area.”
It also states that Crown “suffered from a mild heart attack.”
Privacy laws prevented the Sheriff ’s Office and Twin Cities Hospital, where Crown was admitted and spent several days, from confirming a heart attack.
