Another Broken Egg Cafe Opens in New Location

Restaurateur Ron Green and Family Celebrate 10 Years in the Breakfast Business

Celebrate the Easter holiday at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, where ‘eggciting’ new developments are hatching for lovers of opulent breakfast, brunch and lunch fare.

Another Broken Egg Café, one of the most popular eateries at Sandestin’s Village of Baytowne Wharf has become so successful that a second, larger location has opened at the resort’s bayfront Linkside Conference Center.

Formerly the site of Sunset Bay Café, the new location for Sandestin’s second Another Broken Egg Café offers 4,100 square feet of space, which accommodates up to 140 patrons inside, with outdoor seating overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay for up to 20 people. The Village location, which opened in 2002, seats 82 inside, with outdoor seating for up to 34 diners.

The new location has been completely renovated, featuring the café’s signature French Country interior design scheme with its warms colors of reds and yellows with copper accents.

Owners Ron and Sharon Green credit much of the restaurant’s success not only to the award-winning fare, but to an efficient staff as well. “Everyone on our team is outstanding, considering that on an average Sunday we will serve 500 people from 7 a.m. to noon - that’s preparing 1.4 fresh meals a minute,” said Green.

Another Broken Egg Café offers a reasonably priced menu consisting of more than 130 breakfast, brunch and lunch items from gourmet omelets and egg scramblers to five variations of the famous Eggs Benedict. “Our menu is a fusion of different ethnic flavors and tastes including, Southwestern, good old Cajun, and the timeless Southern traditions,” he added.

The Greens discovered a successful niche market for their upscale breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant 10 years ago when they opened their first venture, The Broken Egg Café in Mandeville, La. Today, the Greens, along with Ron’s brother, Tommy, have worked to see that niche grow into a profitable nest, with nine restaurants thriving including four local locations - one in Destin and one in Grayton Beach with Tommy at the helm, and now two at Sandestin. Franchise locations are cropping up in other parts of the country as well.

Both Another Broken Egg Café locations in Sandestin are open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are not necessary, however, large parties are encouraged to call ahead.
