Counterfeiting suspects sought

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for three suspects who tried to use $100 counterfeit bills at two locations in two days.

At about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, two black men tried to buy food with a counterfeit $100 bill at Burger King on U.S. Highway 90 in Pace, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. They were driving a white late-model Ford Taurus four-door with an unknown tag.

Just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, video surveillance captured one of the men and a woman trying to pass more counterfeit $100 bills at the Grocery Outlet on U.S. 90.

The first suspect is described as a thin black man possibly in his early to mid-30s wearing a white shirt, black jacket and blue jeans. The driver of the automobile at Burger King may possibly have been wearing an earring.

The second suspect is a heavy-set black man wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

The third suspect is a black woman about 20 to 30 years old.
