The Bay Point Lady Sets Sail

PANAMA CITY BEACH - The Bay Point Marriott Golf Resort & Spa now offers guests complimentary transportation to Shell Island, a seven-mile long island located between the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrews Bay.

Undeveloped and uninhabited by people, the island is home to one of the world's largest concentration of bottle-nosed dolphins. Shell Island remains natural and pristine, with vast stretches of white sand, abundant trees, and wildlife. The Bay Point Marriott is the only resort in Panama City with the rights to transport guests on its new 60-passenger boat, The Bay Point Lady.

"It's amazing: take a twenty minute boat ride and go back in time, to a beach that doesn't have high-rises or crowds," notes Bay Point Marriott's General Manager, Jeff Segan.  "You can snorkel, fish, swim, or just enjoy the beautiful view.  Shell Island is truly magnificent."

Shell Island earned a #1 rating from "Dr. Beach", aka Dr. Stephen Leatherman, the world's authority on beach quality (www.drbeach.org).  Dr. Leatherman rates beaches on a stringent quality scale, and ranks Shell Island on the same par among the world's finest beaches, including Kapalua Bay and Lanikai Beach in Hawaii.

For more information on the Bay Point Lady boat service to exclusive Shell Island or any of the amenities offered by the Bay Point Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, visit online at www.Marriottbaypoint.com or call (866) 234-2616.
