Audubon Exhibit at Mattie Kelly Arts Center

National Tour Comes to Niceville

The Mattie Kelly Fine and Performing Arts Center galleries at Okaloosa-Walton College in Niceville plays host to the national tour of “John James Audubon, American Artist and Naturalist”, June 17 to July 19.

The exhibition features a selection of rare and valuable Audubon works of art and artifacts that will travel to only 10 cities in its multi-year national tour.

The Audubon exhibit features more than 60 of the original large hand-colored engravings from "The Birds of America", selected from the collection and archives of the John James Audubon Museum at Henderson, Ky.

Original Audubon oil paintings and drawings, rare books, Audubon portraits, a plaster life mask, as well as original photographs, letters and personal items are also included in this unique exhibit.

The Audubon exhibit at OWC is underwritten by a generous donation from Nokuse Plantation. The Choctawhatchee Audubon Society is a contributing sponsor of the event.
