OWC Mattie Kelly Arts Center Season Announced

9 National Broadway & Artist Shows

The Mattie Kelly Fine and Performing Arts Center at Okaloosa-Walton College in Niceville announces its 11th season of Broadway and Artist Shows, featuring performances with Hal Holbrook as Mark Twain, and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita.

Broadway Productions:

Evita: Oct. 10

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award winning production brings to life the dynamic, larger-than-life persona of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator, Juan Peron. This legendary musical features the memorable song “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina.” Individual tickets for this show are $45 each.

Ring of Fire: Feb. 1

Stories of passion, redemption, humor, and salvation will set the stage ablaze in this musical celebration of the world's most famous rebel. The production features 38 signature songs from the legendary Man in Black - Johnny Cash. Individual tickets for this show are $45 each.

The Producers: Feb. 20

The nationally touring show of Mel Brook's outrageous musical comedy, features an energetic 22-member ensemble cast, luscious costumes designed by William Ivey Long, and brilliant choreography all wrapped around a howlingly funny plot. Individual tickets for this show are $45 each.

Movin' Out: Feb. 25

Five-time Grammy winner Billy Joel and legendary director/choreographer Twyla Tharp joined forces to create this spectacular Broadway musical featuring 24 Joel rock classics. Individual tickets for this show are $45 each.

Season ticket packages are available Aug. 27 through Oct by phone, in-person or by mail only from the OWC Mattie Kelly Arts Center box office. 10. Season ticket holders enjoy priority selection of seating for the season’s top shows and a discount over single ticket prices.

New this season, individual tickets for all Broadway & Artist shows will go on sale September 10, subject to availability.

The 2007-‘08 Broadway season includes four shows for $165 per season package or $45 per individual ticket. An 8-show Broadway/Artist combo package will be $275, with varying individual ticket prices for Artist Series shows.

Artist Shows

Gran Folklorico de Mexico: Nov. 1

Mexico's ambassadors of song and dance, this colorful, rhythmic show is presented in a swirl of authentic Mexican costumes with Mariachi, Marimba and Jorocho bands providing exciting musical settings for a panorama of Mexican dance and song. Individual tickets for this show are $25 each.

3 Mo’ Divas: Nov. 10

An exciting musical journey with class, sass and style, 3 Mo’ Divas celebrates the amazing versatility of the female voice with extraordinary musical range from Bach to Beyonce. Individual tickets for this show are $30 each.

Stomp: Dec. 11 and 12

The innovative show for all ages features an eight-member troupe who use everything but conventional percussion instruments - everything from matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans and Zippo lighters to hubcaps - to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. Individual tickets for each show are $40.

Hal Holbrook in Mark Twain: Jan. 9

Go back in time with Hal Holbrook’s characterization of the great novelist and raconteur. This show is quite simply, one of the most acclaimed and enduring performances in the history of theater. Individual tickets for this show are $30 each.

Special Events

Annie: Jan. 30

This timeless tale of Little Orphan Annie will give a whole new generation the chance to experience this classic musical about never giving up hope, while warming the heats of those who remember it as a cherished old friend. Individual tickets for this show are for $40 adult and $35 children age 18 and under.

Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra

The Mattie Kelly Arts Center is also the home venue of the region’s premiere professional symphony, the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra (NFSO), now in its 21st season. Season tickets for the symphony’s five concerts are on sale now at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Box Office.
